Projects I'll Never Write #2 - "Star Wars: Pacifism."

Apologies for the slacking. It was a combination of switching to monthly/bi-monthly posting and then the appearance of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I could beat the game, but...there's so much to explore. Video games: the bane of nearly every writer ever.

In any case, this will be another entry in my series of Projects I'll Never Write. This is where I discuss ideas I've had for a while, but for various reasons, I will never write.

I am a big Star Wars nerd. Watched all the movies, all the shows, read a number of novels, comics, etc. Of course it is natural for me to sometimes come up with ideas in that world. This one would never fly, seeing as Brian Cronin of Comic Book Legends Revealed once covered the story of Marvel shutting a similar idea down. (Apologies, but I could not find the exact legend even after searching the archive and leafing through the two books of his I own.)

In any case, what I would write would be the story of a pacifist Jedi. It's a concept I've not come across. The novels pay a lot of lip service to the Jedi not wanting to kill, but doing it to keep the peace. They always justify it. What I want is someone who is powerful in the force, but absolutely does not want to battle. To the point of refusing to build a lightsaber.

Without getting into the aspects too deep, the Jedi order takes babies from parents and trains them up to be warriors, basically child soldiers. It seems that, until the person is old enough to leave on their own, the younglings do not get a choice. I want to see the perspective of a person who loves being connected to the Force and the healing abilities and knowledge, but refuses to fight.

Perhaps if given the chance I could hammer this out to be a short in the Star Wars Visions cartoon show.
