Projects I'll Never Write #1: "Friday the 13th: Game Preserve"

This is going to be a semi-recurring feature about ideas I've fleshed out to some extent, but know I am never going to actually write. Largely because they are for intellectual properties I don't own so it seems futile to spend my time actually writing them out. A lot, if not all, will come from movies since I think about horror movies, like, a LOT!

With that in mind one idea I've had is for a Friday the 13th sequel. I love this franchise, probably my second favorite only to Scream. Every Friday the 13th I have a party and watch a few of the movies at random with the use of dice to determine which ones get watched. By this point the series is almost beyond parody (though I will fight people about the quality of Jason X) but I think with the right budget and mentality this could work.

Definitely not a reboot. They tried that, it didn't work. Nor would this necessarily eliminate Jason X in the canon. What I propose is a situation where Jason Voorhees is still a problem, except that people have figured out that he is fairly dormant so long as people stay away from Camp Crystal Lake. Because of that the government has funded a large prison for this one man. Crystal Lake is surrounded by large electric fences a la Jurassic Park at what people have figured out is his roaming range. There are guard towers for monitoring him.

The hook will be that the guards of this prison are all from strict religious sects that forbid alcohol, drugs, and pre-marital sex so they are basically invisible to Jason.

Of course, this being a "Friday the 13th" movie there will be a group of teenagers who break in by finding a hole in the fence. Let's say that, by this point, Jason is an urban legend and younger people believe the prison to be like Area 51 so they want to expose it. Things go wrong, these kids like sex and brought beer, so their actions awaken Jason's rage. That's when it gets revealed that the guards are there not only to keep Jason in, but also to keep any interlopers from escaping since they know Jason will hunt them to the ends of the Earth to kill them and this keeps the innocent bystanders from being murdered.

This can't be any worse than the one where Jason possesses people.
